Abstract
The double fruits in peach tree. The double fruits (FD) and fruit with deep suture (FSP) are those from two or more flowers with pistils formed in former September. In peach, the FD / FSP presence delay time of thinning, increasing cost and depreciating the crop commercially. The genetic origin of varieties and water stress at the time of formation of the pistil, are major risk factors. For varietal susceptibility, the varieties can be linked into 2 groups: melting flesh cultivars with medium to high incidence (15% or more of FD / FSP) and the non melting flesh varieties with low incidence (less than 5%). In both groups there are differences in sensitivity between varieties or series. The less vigorous rootstcks induce greater sensitivity than the peach x almond hybrids. Vigorous trees during the summer season had a greater number of FD / FSP. Control of tree vigor in the summer, along with the efficient management of irrigation and varieties adapted to hot and dry summers areas are the current solutions for to make light of the FD / FSP incidence.
Key words: Peach tree, Cultivar peach, Double pistil, High summer temperature, Déficit irrigation.
